It is with great sadness that we have to report that Dan Docherty passed away on 9th December 2021. His memory lives on through this website, his articles, videos, podcasts and in the hearts, minds and teaching of his many students and friends throughout the world.

If you are looking for a teacher in this style, then please visit “Where to Learn” “Instructor Listings” page as although this is not being kept up to date it will provide contact details for a number of his main students.

The PTCCI practitioners Facebook page is useful should you have questions.

Featured Instructor

Posted by: Dan

Apologies to all, especially to Catherine Birkinhead, for neglecting to draw your attention to the 'Featured Instructor' article composed by the website team.
We had discussed using a Golden Oldie such as young Steve Wooster, Katherine Allen and many others. In the end we chose Cathy, not because she makes excellent Blackberry gin , but because she puts her whole spirit into her Tai Chi. A few years back, I was chatting to the late Kathy Davies as we watched the forms events at the British open TCC Championships in Oxford. A new competitor started doing her hand form. I said to Kathy, 'Who the Hell is this?' Kathy caught on immediately and said, Lots of mistakes, but with training, she could be great.'
Kathy told her of our conversation. Cathy turned up at the next camp. The rest is history. However, she has moved onto the next stage and has become an excellent judge and coach. She deserves to be the first Featured Instructor.
